Software Architect Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Software Architect, you will play a key role in designing and developing pioneering real-world artificial intelligence systems for high-end sensors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop robust systems to enable rapid information flow and analysis for real-world AI systems
  • Work with a skilled team of engineers and scientists to plan and design systems
  • Coding skills in C++, CMake, build servers, and Linux
  • Strong information technology skills and familiarity with system deployment
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment technologies
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic project environment with evolving technologies and problem-sets
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • ~5+ years of experience in systems programming (C++, C#, Java, etc.)
  • ~8+ years of experience working with systems programming languages
  • Experience with data science and machine learning programming
  • Experience with multiple flavors of Linux
  • Full-stack experience
  • Machine/Deep Learning or analytics development experience
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance
