Your role and responsibilities

Job Overview:
• As a vital member of the production team, you will ensure the efficient manufacturing of high-quality products in the required volumes.
• Identify and source the correct components (shaft and rotor) and prepare machinery for the assembly process.
• Utilize the Shop Floor Display to interpret and understand: Special Instructions, TDRs, Manufacturing Instructions, and all relevant diagrams for your tasks.
• Measure accurately using a tape measure and scale, performing basic calculations with the assistance of a computer or calculator.
• Adjust and regulate machine settings to comply with blueprints, utilizing layouts and dimensions from technical drawings to execute assigned responsibilities.
• Recognize various assembly tools and apply them following safe work practices. Order necessary supplies, components, and tools as required, and identify materials used at your workstation as dictated by the job process.
• Employ flex flow and day and rank systems effectively.
• Operate air manipulators and hoists for lifting motors safely.
• Meet production specifications, deliver quality products, maintain defect-free work, and achieve production targets.
• Train and assist fellow operators in performing tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with other operators and supervisors to address any operational challenges.
• Provide support to other functions within the team/department.
• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Be open to cross-training in other roles within the team/department.
• Prioritize safety in the workplace above all else, adhering to safety protocols and reporting any safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Be prepared to work overtime and undertake additional duties as required.

Qualifications for the role
  • Education and Experience Needed:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 6 months of industrial experience, or military service in lieu of industrial experience
  • Previous experience in motor manufacturing is preferred.
  • Specialized skills or other requirements:
  • Consistent work history
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to adapt to change and willingness to cross-train
  • Detail-oriented
  • Availability to work any shift
  • Capability to operate hoists (in certain areas)
  • Physical Demands:
  • Involves repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting of motors/parts weighing up to 50 lbs. Hoists will be utilized for weights exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to exert initial force of 55 lbs. to 75 lbs. to move buggies with parts/motors, and sustain 25 lbs. of force to keep them moving
  • Must be able to work with exposure to lubrication, oil, and grease
  • Understand and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Able to work 40 hours a week and required overtime
  • Ability to think independently while effectively functioning in a team environment
  • Capable of performing tasks in a manufacturing setting
  • Standing on concrete floors for extended periods (8 hours or more) is required
