Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Penn State Health. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of eye disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patients
  • Review appointment schedules and prioritize tasks
  • Perform basic and routine vision screening examinations
  • Administer eye medications and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments
  • Assist physicians during minor surgical procedures
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support Certification required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Minimum of one year experience in an eye practice, as a Medical Assistant, or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • JCAHPO Certification preferred
