Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Penn State Health. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of eye disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patients
- Review appointment schedules and prioritize tasks
- Perform basic and routine vision screening examinations
- Administer eye medications and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments
- Assist physicians during minor surgical procedures
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support Certification required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
- Minimum of one year experience in an eye practice, as a Medical Assistant, or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Associate's degree preferred
- JCAHPO Certification preferred
