Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Area Vice President of Operations to join our team at Amedisys. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the management and oversight of company resources within a designated geographic area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Operations and Corporate Finance Department to establish care centers revenue and budget goals.
  • Monitor Profit & Loss statements and make adjustments to operations, staffing, and expenses accordingly.
  • Partner with Business Development personnel to meet admission and revenue goals, and participate in sales and marketing activities.
  • Provide support, direction, and monitor the performance of Directors of Operations within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain the reputation of the agencies in the communities they serve, and in state and national organizations.
  • Work closely with regional clinical and business development support staff to ensure Clinical, BD, and Operational excellence.
  • Responsible for care centers financial performance and monitoring performance to budget.
  • Implement budget and accounting systems and maintain fiscal controls.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and requirements of third-party payers.
  • Ensure final audits/billings are completed timely and in compliance with payer requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of the EMR record and reporting systems to ensure proper service control and measurement of program outcomes.
  • Ensure evaluation of all agency programs and staff.
  • Take an active part in local, state, and national health committees and functions.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance, holding employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives.
  • Execute effective performance redirection when needed, and develop employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on-the-job training and development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Degree in health administration or related field.
  • Five (5+) years of supervisory and administrator experience in a home health, hospice, or related health program.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of regulations and reimbursements in home health care.
  • Demonstrates expertise in personnel management, leadership, and financial management.
