Surgical Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant - Surgical to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our surgical care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Assist professional nursing personnel in providing quality patient care, performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, and using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Provide direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure, including taking and recording vital signs, measuring and recording fluid intake/output, applying dressings, and recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions.
- Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, eating and hydration, and help patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
- Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs, and document relevant patient care data.
- May provide clerical support to the unit, including order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
- Certified Nurse Assistant - Oregon.
- Basic Life Support.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and 5 pounds frequently is also required.
