Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Inova Health System. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preoperative patient assessments and provide safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to determine positioning techniques, instrumentation requirements, and patients' needs.
  • Advocate for patient rights and provide counsel to resolve issues.
  • Evaluate and document patients' response to care and establish a health promotion strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, peers, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers.
  • Participate in quality and best practice initiatives to improve patient care and enhance outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse Compact License and a license as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Practice Agreement signed by sponsoring/supervising physician(s) and a written Scope of Practice/Protocol signed by the supervising physician.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration License (if prescribing controlled substances).
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
