About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Locksmith to join our team at the Miami Beach Convention Center. As a Locksmith, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security and functionality of all doors and locking mechanisms throughout the venue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain locks, doors, and security devices to ensure a secure and efficient event environment.
  • Cut and program keys for staff, guests, and vendors to ensure seamless access.
  • Respond to lockout calls and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on locks, doors, and security systems to prevent issues.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure facility security and access control.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inventory management.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices in locksmithing to provide exceptional service.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Perform carpentry tasks such as installing, repairing, and replacing doors, walls, and floors to maintain the venue's infrastructure.
  • Build and install cabinets, shelving, and other fixtures to support event operations.
  • Conduct repairs on furniture and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Assist with event setup and teardown, including installing and removing partitions, ramps, and other structures.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, on projects and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Locksmith and a valid Dade County or state locksmith license.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with security systems, access control, and electronic locks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Locksmithing (e.g., ALOA, ILA) a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred OSHA certification or training.
