Job Title: Corporate Paralegal

Applied Medical is a leading medical device company with a strong commitment to innovation and excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Paralegal to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Corporate Paralegal will provide critical support to our Legal Department, focusing on contract management, litigation, and corporate governance. This role requires a strong understanding of civil litigation, immigration processes, and contract documents. The ideal candidate will have excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file civil case documents, attend hearings, and pursue judgment enforcement.
  • Support litigation efforts, manage docket-related action items, and track contract flow, renewals, and termination dates.
  • Draft letters and agreements for various business groups and update electronic databases to reflect agreement terms.
  • Maintain and file corporate records, including organizational documents, minutes, annual reports, and stock certificates.
  • Process immigration cases, including compiling eligibility documents, liaising with internal stakeholders, and tracking filing dates and maintaining case files in electronic databases.
  • Provide general administrative support, including editing, formatting, copying, scanning, and filing.
Performance Objectives:
  • Within the first 30 days, focus on learning about the company, role, and team structure.
  • Complete all company and department-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) and trainings.
  • Learn about the systems used in the company and understand the processes followed.
  • Within 60 days, understand legal processes for contracts, corporate governance, stock register, immigration filings, and litigation.
  • Facilitate immigration and litigation filings with support from the Legal team.
  • Draft template agreements with guidance from the Legal team.
  • After 90 days to one year, process immigration and litigation filings, process stock register and certificates, and maintain updated case files.
  • Draft and review agreements with guidance as needed.
  • Analyze and elevate legal risks and issues as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with strong academic credentials.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 1-2 years of full-time legal experience, primarily supporting litigation and contract activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation and immigration processes.
  • Knowledge of contract documents and concepts.
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Consistent and reliable work ethic.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Robust computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to learn the use of contract management software.
