Overview

Lovely Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a highly skilled Contracts Specialist to provide technical assistance to our scientific and administrative staff with grant and contract development and administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Institute policies and Federal regulations with regard to grants and contracts.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical assistance to scientific and administrative staff with grant and contract development and administration.
  2. Ensure compliance with Institute policies and Federal regulations with regard to grants and contracts.
  3. Prepare cost estimates and internal reports, and explain financial data to management and scientific personnel.
  4. Work with Excel spreadsheets to accomplish the above tasks.
  5. Knowledge of federal regulations including FAR, DFARS, and federal cost principles contained in OMB Circulars A-122, A-133 and A-110 or equivalent experience with DCAA is highly desirable.
  6. Superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills are required.
Qualifications

Relevant qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Public/Business Administration, or a directly related area, and 1-4 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of grant and contract policies of major funding agencies, particularly NIH and DOD, is strongly preferred, as is recent experience in the above areas.

Experience with Cost Point, Banner, or other similar software package, as well as experience in a scientific research environment and training in government acquisitions, and/or Shipley or equivalent proposal development principles, is also desirable.
