Job Title: Learning Assessment Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Learning Assessment Technologist to join our team at the University of Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals who are dedicated to advancing the teaching and learning mission of the university.

About the Role:

The Learning Assessment Technologist will provide key academic assessment technology support services, including Scantron test processing and developing training aids for enterprise-level assessment technology. This role requires a positive customer service-oriented approach while advancing equitable, innovative, evidence-based assessment practices and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Securely receive, prepare, and accurately process Scantron OMR and Gradescope testing answer sheets from various departments across the university, ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Deliver services that allow faculty to effectively and efficiently utilize assessment technologies to assess student performance and evaluate course/program goals, including answering questions and resolving pedagogical challenges.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of pilot tools and training materials to ensure they meet the needs of stakeholders, develop training aids to fill additional needs, and provide support consultations on assessment technology.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of enterprise-level assessment technologies, assisting with configuration, maintenance, and investigating emerging technology solutions.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks such as tracking performance metrics, facilitating supply procurement and contract renewals, and supporting special projects.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience implementing assessment technology in higher education, including Scantron, Remark, Gradescope, iClicker, Canvas LMS, and LTIs (e.g., Perusall, Packback).
  • Experience developing professional development trainings and end-user documentation.
  • Reliable and experienced in maintaining confidentiality and/or securely handling private student records.
  • Demonstrated proficiency providing excellent customer support.
  • Familiarity with best practices in pedagogy.
