SIMEDHealth is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team in Gainesville. Our laboratory provides comprehensive testing services to over 100+ SIMEDHealth providers.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in technical principles, equipment operation, and clinical correlation to perform laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently.
Key qualifications include:
- Florida State License as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology (Serology) is required.
- ASCP Certification or equivalent (AAB, AMT) as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist is preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a laboratory healthcare setting is required.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- AS degree or higher is preferred. Experience can substitute for education.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate will:
- Perform Medical Laboratory Technologist duties as outlined in the Medical Laboratory Technologist 3 job description.
- Provide guidance and assistance to laboratory staff as needed.
- Train new staff in laboratory processes, procedures, instrumentation, and general laboratory duties.
- Be responsible for specific projects and duties assigned by the Laboratory Director.
- Interact with the Laboratory Director to explore new laboratory methods, instrumentation, and policy implementation.
- Participate in management projects and quality control data collection.
- Meet with the Laboratory Director and staff to discuss laboratory issues.
- Follow industry-standard and SIMEDHealth-specific safety procedures and policies.
- Attend work regularly.
