As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive resource alignment and allocation, ensuring projects are completed within agreed-upon schedules.

You will mentor and develop a team of electrical, hardware, and firmware engineers to expand individual capabilities, build out more capability, and drive design excellence in new technologies and next-gen approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise engineering personnel and outside engineering vendors during all design and build phases of projects to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
  • Coordinate and balance workload using both internal and external resources to complete scheduled engineering activities as required.
  • Develop and motivate a staff that meets or exceeds performance expectations.
  • Coordinate and review project design decisions with staff engineers and management.
  • Monitor and control the budget, scheduling, and design of mechanical, controls, and software systems for customer-ordered and internal-use products.
  • Establish and maintain development schedules, test specifications, and protocols.
  • Supervise prototyping and testing processes.
  • Direct outside activities such as regulatory or other third-party testing.
  • Maintain customer contact through meetings and presentations.
  • Work closely with process development and tooling departments, supporting their activities with necessary engineering services.
  • Promote best practice to strengthen technical depth of staff, ensure responsive operational support, and enable process improvements.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment with open communication, identifying problems and establishing resolutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Ideally 7+ years of relevant engineering experience with a focus on controls engineering.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a consistent track record of successfully leading and developing teams, ideally involving coordination with remotely located partners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in electrical and electronics engineering and control systems integrated into product development as embedded controls platforms.
  • Experience with specifying, developing, maintaining, and managing the deployment of control platforms including panel designs, equipment selection, programming, HMI system integration, sequence of control development, programming, testing, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge in the development and layout of Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Experience with embedded systems (Microcontrollers) and PLC-based designs.
  • Experience in software and firmware development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
