The Multi-modality Sonographer is responsible for performing a range of ultrasound services, including but not limited to:
- Abdominal, Ob/Gyn, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts ultrasound.
This role involves assessing patient histories to determine the purpose of examinations and tailoring procedures to meet clinical needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct multiple modality ultrasound procedures using advanced equipment.
- Identify and define abnormalities, adjusting examination techniques as necessary.
- Assist physicians during procedures to enhance patient safety.
- Prepare patients and gather relevant clinical histories.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their inquiries.
- Maintain ultrasound lab equipment and report any issues.
- Act as a resource for staff and physicians regarding ultrasound techniques.
- Collaborate with the ultrasound team to uphold quality standards.
- Implement new protocols as technology advances.
- Graduation from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Preferred certifications include:
- Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
