We are seeking a highly skilled Director, Product Development and Sourcing to join our team. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Supply Chain, and is responsible for developing the global sourcing strategy to support product strategies while achieving top-line financial and business objectives.

This position requires a leader who can contribute to and support decisions regarding seasonal product development strategies by providing country, vendor, and fabrics strategies; technical product guidance; cost option analysis to inform decision making regarding what is needed to hit top-line financials and to identify risks and opportunities for assigned categories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize global sourcing strategy to align with product strategies.
Align sourcing countries and vendors to achieve key performance indicators (gross sales, item mark-up, average unit cost, on-time delivery, returns rates)

  • Provide in-season costing strategies by leveraging unit volume, fabric consolidation, and style consolidation.

  • Partners with design, merchant partners, and planning on pre-season and in-season research & development targets, goals, and objectives to ensure efforts align with fiscal and event targets.

  • Drive adherence to calendar milestones and deliverables while making recommendations and callouts regarding meeting cadence, process improvements, and efforts to drive efficient use of the team's time.

  • Own vendor relationships.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team; define a clear vision and motivate others to achieve goals; can resolve conflicts easily and with minimal noise while protecting cross-functional partnerships.

  • Build and foster relationships with design, technical design, and merchant partners to lead in a collaborative style as well as communicate in an engaging and impactful manner. Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Owns product development and sourcing process improvement; understand and value the need to access and improve processes to drive efficiencies.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or Textiles preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive leadership experience in apparel product development, sourcing, and manufacturing.

  • 5+ years leading direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated business savvy through analytical thinking, problem solving with in-depth knowledge of key performance indicators.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to think innovatively and strategically.

  • Deep technical product knowledge including strong understanding of vendor operations, safety, product compliance, creative, and product development processes.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing change.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, to set priorities and timelines, and meet challenging and changing deadlines.
