We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Site Operations team at LinkedIn. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our professional social network.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in incident management, monitoring, and observability practices, with a comprehensive understanding of industry-standard methodologies and tools. You will be responsible for developing processes and automation to ensure the quality of incident metadata, facilitating meaningful analysis and actionable insights from incident trends and patterns.

As a leader, you will be expected to guide and motivate a global team of SiteOps professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. You will also collaborate closely with engineering managers and development teams to ensure operability considerations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Site Operations team in ensuring the seamless operation of our professional social network.
  • Develop and implement processes and automation to improve incident management and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and development teams to ensure operability considerations.
  • Guide and motivate a global team of SiteOps professionals.
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings with hundreds of engineers and leadership.
Requirements
  • B.S./B.A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline, or related practical experience.
  • 4+ years experience in web operations, with 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience in UNIX systems and programming with object-oriented languages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex issues and incident response summaries.
  • 5+ years in web operations, with 3+ years in management, expertise in UNIX systems, and programming skills in various languages.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and triage of web-based Java/J2EE system issues.
