Job Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the premises and delivering exceptional service to students and staff.

This role involves adhering to routine cleaning and maintenance protocols to uphold a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency within the facilities.


Working Hours:
Monday - Friday 09:30 AM - 06:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid meal period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Monitor school grounds, buildings, and restrooms to deter vandalism and ensure security.
2. Address student behavioral issues by referring them to the appropriate personnel.
3. Foster a culture of courtesy among students.
4. Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
5. Move, unpack, and assemble furniture and equipment as needed.
6. Clean designated facilities (e.g., classrooms, offices, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, corridors, carpets, windows, walls, bleachers, locker rooms, and grounds).
7. Inspect facilities and take preventative measures to avoid accidents and injuries.
8. Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment (e.g., cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuum cleaners, mops).
9. Respond to immediate safety or operational concerns (e.g., facility damage, unauthorized access, alarms).
10. Distribute supplies and equipment as assigned (e.g., refill soap dispensers, deliver packages).
11. Ensure building security by locking/unlocking doors at appropriate times and reporting unsafe conditions.
12. Prepare facilities for daily operations as required (e.g., opening gates, raising flags).
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:
- Industrial cleaning methods for various surfaces.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:
This position requires significant physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. It may involve climbing, balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, and fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and may involve some hazardous conditions.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- 3-5 years of custodial experience.
- College coursework is desirable but not mandatory.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in youth-related activities and school settings is preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
