Job Title: Staff Development Specialist I

Job Summary:

The Staff Development Specialist I is responsible for administering federally mandated Income Maintenance Programs to applicants/recipients who meet eligibility criteria. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with varying personalities and skill levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer Income Maintenance Programs to applicants/recipients who meet eligibility criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team and State Program Consultants to incorporate ongoing policy changes in training.
  • Develop and deliver computer-based and/or classroom training to groups and individuals to enhance employees' awareness, sensitivity, and effectiveness in needed areas.
  • Coordinate, schedule, conduct, and evaluate trainings of seasoned and newly hired staff.
  • Troubleshoot problem cases prior to submission to the state help desk.
  • Work with program supervisors to assess the needs of vacant caseloads and maintain program compliance.
  • Assist with accessing, distributing, and analyzing reports and making recommendations based on findings.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of experience in a human service program, counseling, or training, in the subject matter specified.
  • Graduation from high school and five years of progressively responsible experience directly related to training in the subject or specialty area.
  • Experience in multiple Economic Benefits programs and NCFAST and the demonstrated ability to read manuals, complete web-based and classroom training, and effectively instruct others in groups or individual settings.
