Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cement Technical Services Representative to join our team at CalPortland. This individual will provide quality technical service functions to our customer base in Southern California, Arizona, and Southern Nevada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong technical relationships with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with cement performance and quality, both chemically and physically, at each production and distribution location
  • Communicate effectively with customers, sales, and operations personnel to address customer needs and opportunities
  • Collaborate with various agencies on specifications and provide technical updates to sales and operations personnel as needed
  • Interact with the Central Laboratory to perform customer service testing and provide feedback to plant on customer quality needs
  • Attend quality control meetings at cement plants and provide feedback to plant on customer quality needs
  • Travel required in CA, AZ, and NV
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of technical services experience in the cement/concrete industry and/or construction materials industry
  • Ability to discuss industry, market, and product knowledge in a variety of audiences
  • Strong formal presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making as appropriate
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team-player both internally and externally
  • Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software
  • Clean driving record (for last five years)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with public entities (state, county, city governments, etc.)
  • Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products
