Job Title: Adjunct Professor of American Sign Language

We are seeking a qualified adjunct professor to teach American Sign Language (ASL) at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ASL and Deaf culture, and will be able to effectively communicate with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach ASL 121 American Sign Language I, a 5-credit course that covers the basics of ASL grammar, vocabulary, and communication
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the course learning outcomes and promote student engagement and understanding
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of ASL programs and services
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in ASL or a closely related field
  • Experience teaching ASL or a related subject
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
