ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE

The Food & Beverage team collaborates to ensure guests enjoy a fresh, fully stocked, and safe shopping experience at all times.

This team guarantees a consistent guest experience by maintaining product freshness, stock availability, accurate pricing, and proper signage on the sales floor. They are adept in operations, processes, and efficiency, overseeing all aspects of food and beverage services, including replenishment, inventory management, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage across all Food & Beverage sections of the store.

As a Food & Beverage Expert, you will gain:

  • Insight into guest service fundamentals and experience in cultivating a guest-first culture in Food & Beverage.
  • Knowledge on advising guests regarding optimal purchasing quantities and storage tips.
  • Experience in the fundamentals of the Food & Beverage business: department sales trends, inventory management, quality control, and pricing strategies.
  • Understanding of food seasonality, freshness, quality standards, food safety protocols, and merchandising techniques.

Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring a fresh and fully stocked shopping environment during all operational hours, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
  • Maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage Standards.
  • Understanding how operational procedures influence inventory loss and profitability.
  • Implementing Food & Beverage processes such as replenishment, stocking, zoning, data accuracy, and cleaning.
  • Managing fast-moving inventory by adjusting stock based on seasonality and demand.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations as outlined in best practices.
  • Utilizing sampling and suggestive selling techniques to promote products and enhance sales.
  • Collaborating with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributors to maintain product displays and backroom organization.
  • Identifying and processing damaged or expired items according to best practices.
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere by genuinely greeting all guests.
  • Observing guest behavior to determine if assistance is needed, tailoring your approach based on verbal and non-verbal cues.
  • Engaging with guests authentically, asking questions to better understand their needs.
  • Being knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to assist guests effectively.
  • Expressing gratitude to guests and reinforcing their choice to shop at Target.
  • Complying with all applicable laws regarding adult beverage sales.
  • Properly managing environmentally sensitive items during spills or breaks.
  • Using and caring for protective equipment as per guidelines.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Working safely at all times to protect yourself and others, identifying and correcting hazards, and adhering to safety policies.
  • Supporting guest services such as backup cashiering and order pickups while maintaining compliance.
  • Performing other duties as required by business needs.
