Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at MedStar Ambulatory Services. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical imaging team.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced medical setting, consistent with policies and procedures.
- Work under the supervision of a physician to perform patient triage, care pathways, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently in the medical record.
- Support optimal patient flow and contribute to a positive patient experience.
- Acquire ordered images, evaluate their technical quality, and comprehend equipment and procedures for all specialists working within the facility.
- Support the physician in patient examination, testing, and education.
- Maintain individual credentials for radiography and perform required patient follow-up for pap smears, Pb levels, HIV, mammograms, and STDs.
- Monitor equipment functionality and report system problems promptly.
- Clean, stock, and sterilize equipment, and perform annual reporting, including protective device surveys and diagnostic imaging repeat analysis.
- Perform multifunctional skills, other testing, and care consistent with the scope of practice, including spirometry/PFTs, patient vitals, and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing testing, splinting, tuberculosis skin testing, pregnancy testing, urinalysis, venipuncture, finger sticks on adults, and heel sticks on infants.
- Act as a mentor for clinical staff, lead by example, and foster staff development.
- Support other members of the clinic team during downtime and when patient bottlenecks occur, ensuring optimal patient flow.
- Provide telephone triage services and perform patient follow-up calls and professional communication or lab tests and clinical results in accordance with policy.
- Prepare and administer oral medications and injections, limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular, under physician supervision.
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
- Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
- CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) by American Association of Medical Assistants or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) through American Medical Technologies preferred.
- 2+ years of medical office experience; experience working with electronic medical records preferred.
- T (Radiology Tech) program preferred.
- Completion of an approved M.A (Medical Assistant) program preferred.
