Position Summary:
- We are looking for a skilled individual with expertise in software engineering for embedded systems.
- The Body Control Software division is responsible for creating software solutions for various vehicle functionalities including ignition, security, illumination, alerts, window operations, powered compartments, climate control, and seating adjustments. Professionals in this role will engage in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and products tailored to fulfill customer requirements.
- Team members will participate in the complete software development lifecycle, which encompasses software architecture design, quality assurance testing, and software deployment to align with customer specifications.
- Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of functional specifications (software requirement development), conduct design evaluations, assist in troubleshooting vehicle and breadboard challenges, have over 5 years of engineering experience, and a solid grasp of embedded hardware and software design principles.
Required Skills:
- Experience in Project Management
- Comprehensive understanding of embedded hardware and software design
- Proficient in control theory and algorithm development
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Matlab Simulink, JIRA, JAMA, and GitHub is essential
- Familiarity with CANalyzer, AutoSAR, and Functional Safety standards is necessary
- Working knowledge of CAN and LIN vehicle communication networks
- Understanding of functional safety principles
- Awareness of cybersecurity and message authentication
- Experience with or for an Electronic Control Manufacturer is advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
- Consideration may be given to candidates with less than five years of experience if they demonstrate substantial knowledge in the relevant areas.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 5 years of engineering experience
- A minimum of 3 years in Algorithm Design for embedded hardware and/or software
- At least 3 years of experience with control theory and algorithm design using truth tables and finite state machines
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with vehicle networks (CAN/LIN)
- At least 1 year of experience using Matlab/Simulink
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with the necessary experience/skill set
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience in Algorithm Design for embedded hardware and/or software
- 5+ years of experience with control theory and algorithm design using truth tables and finite state machines
- Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA, and GitHub
- Knowledge of CANalyzer, AutoSAR, SOA, and Functional Safety principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with or for an electronics control manufacturer
