Job Summary:
The Program Leader position at arc After School and Experiential Education is a part-time, non-exempt role that reports to the Site Coordinator of the school site. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for leading recreational activities, supporting students in their social-emotional learning, and helping them with homework and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day.
- Lead kids in recreational activities and play yourself.
- Help with homework and provide support in academic subjects.
- Organize and lead clubs, supervise play, and engage in crafts and other activities.
Requirements:
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
- Excellent communication skills, able to talk to both kids and parents comfortably.
- Official or unofficial college transcripts that confirm you have 48+ college credit units completed OR you take and pass an academic proficiency exam.
- Problem-solving skills, ability to work as a team player, and good listening skills.
- Must get a TB test (and provide proof that it is negative), pass a Live Scan background check, and have a current vaccination for Covid 19.
- Required to take CPR and first aid training or provide certification that you have been certified within 12 months.
- English-Spanish bilingual speakers are encouraged to apply.
