    Responsibilities
    We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Care Specialist to join our esteemed team of healthcare professionals. Our organization is recognized for its outstanding programs, and we are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
    Position Summary
    This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. Responsibilities include verifying medication orders, assessing optimal drug selections, designing dosage regimens, and monitoring drug therapy within the healthcare system. The specialist will also collaborate with medical staff to identify alternative therapies when necessary, evaluate patient care plans, and resolve medication-related issues to enhance pharmaceutical care.
    Position Responsibilities
    + Review, interpret, and assess all medication orders for patients across all age groups.
    + Maintain patient medication profiles using an automated pharmacy information system.
    + Provide consultation and guidance to medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication prescribing, dispensing, and administration.
    + Monitor patients' overall drug therapy for effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, toxicities, drug interactions, and incompatibilities.
    + Conduct assigned drug monitoring programs and evaluations as required.
    + Document Pharmacist Intervention activities, including recommendations on drug selection, dosage adjustments, and appropriate therapy.
    + Obtain medication histories for selected patients and relay pertinent information to the appropriate healthcare provider.
    + Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers as necessary.
    + Prepare and/or verify the correct preparation of medications for dispensing, adhering to required techniques.
    Qualifications
    *Requirements:

    + Registered Pharmacist with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy in good standing (RPH)
    + Aseptic Technique – Completion of an ACPE approved 20-hour sterile products course

    Hours:
    + Part-Time
    + Night Shift
    + Sunday - Thursday
    + 9pm-7am every other week
    Pay Range: $64.85/hour
