Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries, such as pelvic exams and allergy testing.
  • Administer medications, including immunizations and pain medications, under physician orders.
  • Provide basic patient education on tasks, skills, and self-care.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely information.
  • Perform advanced clinical tasks, such as removal of sutures and staples, and laboratory procedures.
  • Organize and prepare exam rooms, lab, and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, and ordering supplies.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days.
  • Completion of military education and training for Army Medics, Navy/Coast Guard Corpsmen, or Air Force Med Techs.
  • Current enrollment in an educational program to acquire a clinical Wisconsin state license within 5 years of employment.
  • Minimum 5 years of medical experience in the military.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and electronic medical records systems.
Working Conditions

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
