About the RoleThe Assistant Director of Nursing RN will play a critical role in the day-to-day management of the Nursing Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services. This dynamic leader will be responsible for directing the operations of the nursing staff, resolving pending issues, and maintaining compliance with infection control protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Resolve pending issues from previous shifts, including missed or incomplete labs, treatments, admissions, or discharges.
- Conduct compliance audits related to infection control, including glucometer, refrigerator, sharps containers, laboratory cleanliness, and hand washing.
- Manage medication storage, returns, and destruction, as well as coordinate with the pharmacy to resolve medication issues.
- Order supplies, maintain inventory, and organize the supply room.
- Monitor and track lab orders, outside consults, and medical transfers.
- Coordinate admission workflows, print Integra and Care 360 requisitions, and ensure collected samples are properly labeled.
- Level of Care transfers in AVATAR.
- Perform administrative functions, including scanning documents into AVATAR, assisting with the work schedule, and creating/modifying observation sheets.
- Conduct admission and discharge audits, ensuring compliance with nursing procedures.
- Coordinate the Vivitrol program as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain daily scheduling of units according to approved ratios based on census.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for quality patient care delivery.
- During a State of Emergency, ensure appropriate nurse staffing levels are maintained and may be required to remain onsite throughout the emergency period.
- Competitive hourly rate starting at $45, with night shift differential of $3.00 per hour.
