We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Surgical Technology Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College.
Responsibilities- Deliver approved curriculum and monitor student progress throughout the course of the day.
- Makes himself/herself available for students' questions and learning needs, and exhibits professional behavior and serves as a role model for students.
- Promotes patient and student safety, and creates a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Makes systematic observations and objective judgments about student performance, and provides timely feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Meets regularly with the Program Director to maintain productive two-way communication between the program and Operating Room personnel.
- Discusses student evaluation with each student's preceptor(s), and prepares Clinical Evaluation Forms documenting student progress.
- Provides feedback to the program about current department/hospital policies or changes in practice in the field, and makes suggestions for program modifications or improvement.
- Monitors and assures program compliance, and is available in person, by phone, or other methods of communication to respond to students in a timely manner as problems arise.
- Maintains current level of knowledge through participation in educational and in-service programs, workshops, and professional affiliations.
- Maintains office hours, and performs other duties as assigned.
- Current certification or licensure in Surgical Technology.
- Good interpersonal skills in relating to students, clinical personnel, and physicians.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Clinical Managers, Schedule Coordinator, and Educational Coordinator for the Operating Room.
