Job Summary:

The Nurse III Manager is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating the provision of nursing care on a 24-hour basis. This role involves directing the day-to-day operations in all assigned areas, facilitating the identification and implementation of Standards of Practice, and ensuring a competent workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to promote a professional environment and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
  • Provide clinical direction and expertise to ensure care is provided based on individual resident characteristics.
  • Supervise the work of others, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement resident-centered trauma-informed care.
  • Ensure timely reporting of general patterns and trends of nursing care.
  • Provide treatment to HHS employees injured in the course and scope of employment.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Texas Nurse Practice Act and the role of peer review in the provision of professional nursing.
  • Knowledge of management theory, organizational planning, and improving organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of training principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of group process, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations.
  • Knowledge of nursing competencies, standards, and health care laws and regulations.
  • Skills in the care and treatment of residents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that promote teamwork.
  • Skills in utilizing computer hardware/software.
  • Strong coaching skills.
