Job Summary:The Nurse III Manager is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating the provision of nursing care on a 24-hour basis. This role involves directing the day-to-day operations in all assigned areas, facilitating the identification and implementation of Standards of Practice, and ensuring a competent workforce.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to promote a professional environment and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Provide clinical direction and expertise to ensure care is provided based on individual resident characteristics.
- Supervise the work of others, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement resident-centered trauma-informed care.
- Ensure timely reporting of general patterns and trends of nursing care.
- Provide treatment to HHS employees injured in the course and scope of employment.
- Knowledge of Texas Nurse Practice Act and the role of peer review in the provision of professional nursing.
- Knowledge of management theory, organizational planning, and improving organizational performance.
- Knowledge of training principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of group process, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations.
- Knowledge of nursing competencies, standards, and health care laws and regulations.
- Skills in the care and treatment of residents.
- Strong interpersonal skills that promote teamwork.
- Skills in utilizing computer hardware/software.
- Strong coaching skills.
