Event Security Officer Overview:


J & A Group, Services Inc is seeking skilled and committed Event Security Officers to safeguard the well-being of guests, personnel, and property during a variety of special occasions.

The ideal applicant will possess exceptional observational skills, outstanding communication capabilities, and a strong sense of duty. This role demands the ability to manage high-stress scenarios, adjust to changing environments, and collaborate effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Presence: Deliver a prominent security presence at special occasions, including concerts, festivals, conferences, and private gatherings.
  • Access Management: Oversee and regulate entry points, confirming credentials and permitting access as required.
  • Crowd Control: Ensure order and manage crowds to avert congestion, facilitate smooth movement, and address any potential disruptions.
  • Area Surveillance: Perform regular inspections of the event location to identify and mitigate security threats, suspicious behavior, or possible dangers.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Be ready to respond effectively to emergencies, including medical situations, disturbances, evacuations, or other unexpected events.
  • Conflict Management: Tactfully manage disputes or disagreements, de-escalating situations when feasible and involving appropriate authorities if necessary.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and concise communication with fellow security staff, event coordinators, and law enforcement to synchronize efforts and ensure a secure atmosphere.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide exemplary customer service by assisting event participants with directions, information, and other inquiries while upholding a professional demeanor.
  • Incident Reporting: Accurately document incidents, security breaches, or any other pertinent information in detailed written reports.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in unison with other security personnel, event staff, and local law enforcement to ensure a cohesive and coordinated security strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional training in security or law enforcement is advantageous).
  • Prior experience in event security, crowd management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.
  • Excellent observational skills to identify potential security threats and breaches.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • A valid security guard license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.

Essential Requirements:

  • All candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully pass a drug and background screening.
  • Must be able to complete a satisfactory physical fitness assessment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must provide a reliable contact number and email.
  • Must have appropriate formal attire, including a well-fitted black suit, white shirt, black shoes, and tie.
