We are seeking a results-oriented Product Manager to contribute to the enhancement of CR product experiences utilizing large language models, starting with AskCR.

In this role, you will report to the Director of Product R&D within the Innovation Lab. This position allows for hybrid work arrangements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your Impact:

You will play a pivotal role in realizing the potential of AskCR by guiding a product that empowers consumers with accurate information about products and facilitates their actions in the marketplace.

This will involve comprehending the RAG architecture that underpins AskCR, evaluating processes to ensure quality outputs, and emphasizing trust and safety features such as guardrails.

You will analyze the data generated through AskCR usage, assessing user interactions and identifying insights regarding user intentions, areas for enhancement, and new features to prioritize for an improved user experience.

Your expertise in CR's internal content, testing data, and subject matter will enable you to design requirements for our evolving knowledge base and data pipelines.

You will engage in rapid experimentation and prompt engineering to refine system inputs and outputs, progressively enhancing AskCR's efficiency and response quality.

As a Product Manager, you will take on a leadership role within our dynamic, cross-functional product team.

You will help define our strategic direction, oversee daily operations, and execute our vision of delivering reliable information and assisting consumers in navigating a complex marketplace.

Collaboration with stakeholders across Consumer Reports will be essential to ensure our development roadmap aligns with our performance objectives, while building upon CR's organizational mission and strategy.


QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal Candidate:

You possess an entrepreneurial mindset with over 5 years of experience pioneering software product development, preferably within leading technology and data firms.

You have a proven track record of delivering products from concept to launch, adeptly managing complex projects and collaborating cross-functionally to meet objectives.

Your product acumen is evident through familiarity with Product Management, Software Engineering, Strategy, Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Design, Content, or Finance, with expertise in at least two of these areas.

Your consumer-centric approach is demonstrated by a history of delivering high-quality products that meet user needs and maximize impact.

FAIR COMPENSATION & A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are dedicated to equitable, transparent compensation and strive to offer competitive, market-informed salaries. The target salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000, with most qualified candidates expected to fall near the midpoint of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by their unique combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
