About the Role

Madison Approach is seeking a highly skilled Product Account Manager to lead commercial and contractual activities for our track business. This is a high-visibility company initiative with significant impact in the industry within the US.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote long and short-term market strategies and departmental goals, evaluating outcomes.
  2. Develop business opportunities to supply our products and solutions to the relevant market effectively.
  3. Manage the entire process of the bid and/or request for proposal (RFP) for potential new projects.
  4. Establish potential partnerships to explore the industry/market, enhancing our position, business opportunities, and sales.
  5. Capture customer feedback and market demands to meet satisfactions and future improvements of our businesses.
  6. Manage all commercial areas of the project, including contract terms and conditions, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  7. Lead the development of strategies for resolving complex commercial/contractual situations, including change orders, and support negotiations with customers and suppliers.
  8. Manage a team/staff, assigning resources to support each project, and assure the creation and maintenance of adequate processes and/or procedures.
  9. Lead the development of training for the team/staff to enhance business development/account management skills and competencies.
  10. Support ongoing improvements in subcontracts with suppliers, ensuring input from current and past contracts is carried forward into future projects.
  11. Work closely with project managers, internal legal counsel, and department managers to solve specific commercial and contractual issues.
Qualifications
  1. Skills and Competencies
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including problem-solving expertise to coordinate interdepartmental and client-related activities.
  3. Strong negotiation skills and comprehensive knowledge of maintenance of way (rail track inspection and maintenance).
  4. Familiarity with market demands of the rail/transportation industry and its respective customers' needs.
  5. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and frequent domestic travels.
  6. Well-skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business software.
  7. Education and Experience
  8. Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  9. More than 5-10 years of experience in business development and account management or a similar type of work in the railroad or transportation industry.
  10. Experience working in North American Class 1 railroads and/or maintenance of way suppliers for North American Class 1 railroads is preferred.
