Field Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team at PCL Construction, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects, working closely with our team to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and lead inspections and orientations, identifying hazards and corrections, and leading by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
- Coordinate with the superintendent on workforce planning.
- Maintain project document control and procedures, supporting project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
- Participate in the supervision of self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
- Mentor and coach field engineers and students/interns.
- Identify issues on-site or in defined work scopes.
- Coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
- Participate in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Develop and maintain positive relationships focusing on all partners.
- Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as a field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
- Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
- Understand and apply construction principles to problem solve.
- Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and reports.
- Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers, and inspectors.
- Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.
