Job Summary

Boulay is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our Private Client Services team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, assessing compliance needs, and coordinating workflow for effective engagement management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Firm leadership to manage PCS client relationships and identify new service opportunities.
  • Assess and identify compliance needs of clients and coordinate workflow for effective engagement management.
  • Review tax returns, including individual (1040), estate, and partnership tax returns, and review tax computations, workpapers, and tax entries.
  • Proactively identify new and additional service opportunities and offer recommendations to clients.
  • Delegate tasks to appropriate members of the PCS team and manage year-end planning and quarterly tax estimates.
  • Oversee processes addressing IRS or State Taxing Authority notices and delegate and oversee the initial preparation and set-up of client files.
  • Research tax laws and offer guidance on tax technical issues and initiate and manage client communications.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to gather information and resolve client matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related degree.
  • CPA Licensure.
  • 4+ years of progressively challenging Public Accounting experience.
  • Solid track record of career achievements and work quality.
  • Individual tax return preparation and review experience (Business returns a plus).
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Revenue Code, tax law, and tax processes.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data.
  • Ability to effectively delegate, supervise, and review work of less experienced staff.
  • Ability to be flexible to changing circumstances and client needs.
