Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Specialists to join our team at Dungarvin. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis, providing hands-on and verbal assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to ensure their comfort, safety, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
  • Assist with transportation to appointments and activities outside the home.
  • Document progress, milestones, and action steps.
  • Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
  • Attend community occasions and participate in fun activities.
Requirements:
  • 18 years or older to work in residential adult programs and at least 21 years or older to work in child foster care homes.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with persons with challenging physical and/or verbal aggressions and/or property destruction and/or self-injurious behaviors.
  • Prefer experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with Mental Health/Illness is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and current auto liability insurance.
  • Computer skills for documentation.
