Position Overview

The Medical Evaluations Assistant plays a crucial role within the Department of Public Health, focusing on enhancing the health services provided to the community. This position is integral to ensuring that all patients receive thorough medical evaluations and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medical Tests: Conduct various medical assessments, including vision tests, hearing evaluations, blood draws, immunizations, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Assist Healthcare Providers: Support licensed professionals during physical examinations and medical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean medical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of medical supplies and forms, including ordering and stocking as necessary.
  • Patient Interaction: Conduct patient check-ins, intake processes, and post-examination follow-ups, providing clear instructions and support.
  • Data Management: Perform data entry and retrieval tasks related to patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Health Education: Provide guidance to patients and their families on preventative health measures and assist with daily living activities as needed.
Qualifications

Education: A recognized Medical Assistant Degree or Certificate is required.

Licensure: Candidates must possess a valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate issued by the appropriate state authority.

Experience: Relevant experience in medical assisting or completion of an EMT training program may substitute for formal education.
