**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Engineer to join our team at Crossfire Consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing transport networks, ensuring the efficient and reliable transmission of data across our network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement transport networks to meet business requirements, ensuring optimal capacity and performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network diagrams, including SONET and DWDM transport systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure adequate network resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize network performance and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve network design and performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in transport network design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of SONET and DWDM transport systems, including network architecture and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Telecommunication systems, including ICON, CCP, BGW, MECCA, NAUTLUS, CANVAS, TCOMS, or nSAP.
  • Experience with network inventory management and capacity planning tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for transport network design and implementation.
