Civil Engineer Intern - Transportation

Halff is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Intern to join our Transportation team in Richardson, TX. As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will assist in the design of transportation projects, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway and highway design projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects, as well as assisting with CAD work and performing calculations and analysis for design projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
  • Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects
  • Assist with drafting CAD work
  • Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
  • Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
  • Great communication skills
  • Solid relationship and team building skills
  • Self-motivated and strong organization skills
Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.
