Job Title: Transport Engineer IV

At The Judge Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Transport Engineer IV to join our team. As a key member of our transport planning team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing SONET and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transport systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement transport systems to meet customer requirements
  • Perform capacity research analysis and initiate projects based on customer needs
  • Coordinate with real estate and central office equipment to ensure adequate power, space, and cooling are available to support network growth and expansion
  • Develop and maintain detailed equipment engineering for network augments, including specifications, diagrams, and drawings
  • Manage and update central network inventory databases to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to enable successful transport implementation
  • Perform wavelength rearrangements to reduce stranded network capacity
  • Support multi-year transport capacity forecasts and network builds to determine capital funding requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Engineering degree and 5-10 years of progressive technical experience designing SONET and DWDM transport systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn company systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with others and be flexible as priorities change
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in fast-paced, dynamic settings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with company systems, such as ICON, CCP, BGW, MECCA, NAUTLUS, CANVAS, TCOMS, or nSAP
