At EXL, we rely on talented professionals like you to help our clients navigate the complexities of commercial insurance.
We are seeking self-directed independent contractors with excellent communication skills and computer proficiency to work from their own homes or offices, servicing onsite survey/inspection assignments in the Fresh Meadows/Queens County area and other locations within approximately 20 miles.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who possess a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards, as well as preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety.
In lieu of experience, we can refer you to a 15-hour online certification option to qualify you. The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
You will be responsible for scheduling on-site surveys and providing risk control reports to insurance industry clients. These reports contain information necessary to underwrite a commercial insurance policy and may include recommendations to control and/or correct potential loss producing conditions associated with that policy.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to manage assignments you accept, successfully secure customer appointments within a local territory, and complete work assignments on time. Our Risk Control Inspectors evaluate businesses behind the scenes to identify hazards and improve safety, mitigating risk for our insurance company clients.
The type of businesses we survey are commercial operations, including retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction jobsites, churches, schools, etc. Most surveys are focused on assessing the business for Property and General Liability coverage, but we also service other commercial insurance lines of business including Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine and Builders Risk.
A reliable vehicle, digital camera, Windows-based computer, image/document scanner, printer, high-speed internet access, measuring device (laser, 100 ft tape, or measuring wheel), and auto and general liability insurance are required tools for this position.
