Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our Inpatient 5th Floor team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
  • Ensure patient safety by identifying and reporting potential or actual safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses in a timely manner.
  • Participate in precepting and evaluation of new personnel, promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Nationally accredited nursing graduate.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language proficiency.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days of hire.
Work Environment

This is a casual pool position, working as needed, with a minimum of two shifts per schedule and one weekend shift per schedule required. Patient care assignments may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
