Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to sell integrated Building Automation, Security Life Safety Systems, and related low-voltage technology solutions to building owners, general contractors, electrical contractors, engineers, architects, and consultants.
  • Build and manage long-term customer relationships with key building owners, general contractors, and architectural and engineering firms, owning and facilitating customer relationships.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new opportunities, demonstrating technical knowledge to create solutions that address customer project challenges and favorably position Climatec Building Solutions.
  • Influence design and construction decisions with owners, contractors, and consultants, generating competitive, high-quality, and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Negotiate and close sales successfully, utilizing sales tools effectively and managing the pipeline in Climatec tools, focusing on next steps, action items, and milestones in the sales process.
  • Lead the sales pursuit team, building team relationships to ensure project success and customer satisfaction, collaborating with product partners, subcontractors, engineers, project managers, and support colleagues.
  • Communicate the project vision, sales strategy, and plan to win, engaging engineers in customer meetings to review specific technologies and working closely on specifications throughout the solution development phase.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • 0 to 1+ years of experience in the Building Automation and/or Life Safety Systems and/or Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Recent graduates with an interest in Building Automation, Life Safety Systems, or Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Any knowledge of the construction industry and understanding of the construction process and owner-direct negotiated process are essential.
  • Strong initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proposal development and writing skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong ability to work independently.
  • Possess reliable transportation.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in the Building Automation and/or Life Safety Systems and/or Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and understanding of the construction process and owner-direct negotiated process are essential.
  • Successful experience selling traditional plan & spec bid and design-build projects to contractors and direct to owners.
  • Proven experience managing the development of complex project solutions, estimates, and proposals.
  • Familiarity with any of the following: access control, video surveillance, security solutions, fire alarms, building automation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell integrated systems. Understanding of software integration via manufacturer software applications, APIs, and custom software development.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
  • Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec's vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive on company business.
  • Be physically able to kneel, stoop, and crawl.
