Liver Transplant Financial Services Specialist

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Specialist to provide financial support to the Liver Disease programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits to obtain insurance authorizations for transplant-related procedures, diagnostic tests, and physician consults.
- Assist with patient billing inquiries and insurance denial and reimbursement queries.
- Monitor and identify changes in regulations and legislation related to commercial and government payer reimbursement practices.
- Provide financial counseling to patients and their families.
- Support the Finance Leads and Associate Director with ad hoc data analysis projects to demonstrate financial performance of the advanced disease and transplant programs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in business, accounting, computer science, or a related major highly preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of finance or equivalent office experience highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience, including medical terminology, insurance eligibility, verification, transplant billing/collections experience.
- Experience in a medical office setting/scheduling of patients.
- In-depth knowledge of transplant case rates, cashing billing regulations, and collection practices.
- Detailed knowledge of Managed Care, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Capitated Insurance models.
- Establishes priorities, problem solves, and works independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills.
