Position Overview

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Postpartum Care Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in supporting new mothers during their recovery period. At St. David's North Austin Medical Center, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing assessments for both mothers and newborns, adhering to established standards of care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans to enhance health outcomes.
  • Deliver direct nursing care while supervising non-licensed staff in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Offer education and emotional support tailored to the unique needs of each patient, including recognizing signs of postpartum depression.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Experience in acute care settings is preferred.
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are required.
