Job Summary

The Postpartum Manager RN Nights is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the postpartum unit. This role monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, holding staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, ensuring adherence to standards of care.
  • Support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost, ensuring a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.
  • Support the achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care, facilitating effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments.
  • Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience, instilling accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader.
  • Review various feedback mechanisms and help identify opportunities to improve customer and patient satisfaction, supporting the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service, identifying development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams.

Requirements

  • BSN degree
  • 1+ year of experience in healthcare
  • 1+ year in a supervisory role
  • Specialty certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • L&D: NRP preferred, FHM preferred, RNC-OB preferred
