Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metrology Quality Specialist to join our team at Harmonic Drive LLC. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of our products through the creation, validation, and troubleshooting of CMM programs, as well as performing precision inspections and FAIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to program CMMs and vision systems to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Perform high-precision measurements of parts and create inspection reports.
  • Provide accurate interpretation and application of ASME standards and dimensional analysis requirements across inspection functions.
  • Create CMM programs using part drawings or models, troubleshoot and/or amend existing CMM programs, and perform inspections as required.
  • Work closely with the team to determine efficiency gaps and implement improvements.
  • Analyze measurements standards and processes to provide accurate and repeatable measurement strategies.
Requirements
  • Associate degree or higher related to engineering, design, or manufacturing.
  • 3 years minimum of experience conducting measurements, programming inspections, gage & fixture design, and reading engineering drawings.
  • 3 years minimum Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Able to react to change effectively in a team setting and handle multiple tasks as assigned.
  • Effective oral and written communication with both technical and management audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a multitude of measurement equipment such as CMMs, Vision systems, 3D scanning, hand gages, and open layout techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.

Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.

Frequently required to sit, stand, move about the shop floor, talk, hear, bend, and reach with hands and arms.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to squat or kneel occasionally.
