Amergis Staffing is actively looking for an Inclusive Education Specialist to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Inclusive Education Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional educational services to students with diverse learning needs. This position is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment for students from kindergarten through grade 12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop individualized education plans in collaboration with parents and educational team members.
  • Facilitate learning for students with a variety of learning, emotional, and physical challenges.
  • Create tailored instructional strategies that align with the general curriculum.
  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, and specialists to design educational strategies that support students' overall development.
  • Prepare educational materials and organize classroom activities.
  • Oversee the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) in partnership with general education staff.
  • Track student progress and participate in the review and adjustment of IEPs as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate student records.
  • Guide and mentor teaching assistants who support students with disabilities.
  • Assist students in transitioning between grades and developing essential life skills.
  • Evaluate students' abilities and educational requirements while monitoring their performance.
  • Engage in discussions regarding student progress with other educators.
  • Foster positive relationships with students and their families through effective communication.
  • Adhere to school district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification as mandated by local regulations.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Standard certifications in Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education are advantageous.
  • Endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) is preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Amergis' competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification, if required.
  • Health documentation as per state regulations.
  • Must fulfill all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as relevant to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
