Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Counselor to join our team at South Middlesex Opportu. As a key member of our staff, you will provide individual and group addiction counseling, case management services, and program activities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding and addressing their unique needs and goals.
  • Counseling and Case Management: Provide individual and group counseling sessions, case management services, and program activities to support clients in their recovery journey.
  • Community Referrals: Coordinate referrals to community-based resources, including detox, IOP, and medication-assisted treatment programs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records, completing required paperwork and documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements
  • Certification or License: Possess a certification or license in substance abuse counseling (CADAC or LADAC) or be enrolled in a certificate program.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Transportation: Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and meet insurance standards.
  • Bilingual Skills: Possess bilingual Spanish language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent contact with clients and colleagues. A successful background check is required for this position.
