Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Equipment Accounting Assistant to join our Fleet Maintenance team at the City of Morgantown. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ordering automotive and mechanical parts and supplies, maintaining a running parts and supply stock and inventory for all City vehicles and equipment, and managing the procurement process for vehicles and equipment parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order and manage the procurement of automotive and mechanical parts and supplies for all City vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of parts and supply inventory, including billing records by department.
  • Manage the storage and maintenance of aboveground and underground storage tanks.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Fleet Superintendent or Public Works Director.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid State of West Virginia Driver's License required.
  • Certified Class AB Operator license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in inventory management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 51 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Training using equipment such as a forklift.
