The Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist will be responsible for bending and finishing custom parts/products that meet customer specifications. This is a key role in our production process, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:- Examine customer specifications to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
- Bend parts as determined by work order specifications, retrieving correct materials and setting up appropriate tools to complete the job.
- Inspect work pieces visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.
- Complete first article documentation as required and enter production quantities and labor hours into our ERP system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Perform various other fabrication duties as necessary to satisfy customer requirements and meet specifications.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Trade school, technical school, or military education preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience bending sheet metal required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions to perform to quality standards.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills to solve technical problems.
- Knowledge of all metallic and non-metallic materials.
- The normal work environment is typical of a machine shop with many moving parts and is typically noisy.
- While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Safety Steel toed shoes are required.
