CNC Machinist & Programmer

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with extensive experience working with Mazak 5-Axis machines to join our team at NESC Staffing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program & Operate: Expertly program, set up, and operate CNC machines (Mazak 5-Axis) to ensure high-efficiency production and precision in every project.
  • Interpret Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings and customer specifications, applying sound engineering principles to meet exacting requirements.
  • Optimize Production: Choose the right cutting tools and set precise speeds to maximize quality while minimizing material waste.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the machining process closely, inspecting parts visually and ensuring all pieces meet our rigorous inspection standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot machines to ensure smooth operation, identifying and addressing issues quickly to prevent delays.
  • Manage Materials: Organize materials by job, ensuring proper identification and availability for upcoming production needs.
  • Adapt to Demands: Efficiently transition between multiple jobs, prioritizing based on deadlines and production needs while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the production manager and team to meet tight deadlines and production goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, with significant expertise in programming, editing, and running Mazak 5-Axis machines.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings, perform precise measurements, and ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: Sharp troubleshooting skills to quickly address machine issues and maintain efficient production.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a high-pace environment.
  • Team-Oriented: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with 5-Axis milling machines is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with using precision measuring instruments, calculators, and electronic equipment.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with potential interruptions.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
